This is a place of
inspiration and growth,
where learning is harnessed through hands-on experience, and nourishing our community is our driving force.
We welcome students from Grades 1–12 for educational and dynamic learning opportunities.
Our 12-station educational tour is an immersive learning experience. Led in small groups by our knowledgeable staff and volunteers, the students are able to explore themes related to sustainable farming and the natural environment. Our program adds a deeper element to your school’s science units.
Whenever we can have kids learn things with their hands, they learn it so much better.
Emily Greenberg, VTT’s Head of School
The students and parents had good things to say about the experience. I thought the field trip was great! We will be excited to do it again next year.
Lana Dyck, Langley Christian School's Teacher
Kristjan is so passionate about farming and is a great educator. He kept the kids engaged, and they left the farm with a great appreciation for agriculture, farmers, and food.
Hilit Nurick, King David High School’s Teacher
The students have not stopped talking about it since we got back. We had a wonderful experience. We appreciate your knowledge and guidance around the farm.
Shelly Beth Reves, Simonds Elementary School's Teacher
What to Expect
Children will arrive at our farm and be welcomed by our Stable Harvest Farm farmers. The tour will be led by our team of knowledgeable farmers and volunteers.
The children will be split into smaller groups and will then tour through 12 stations that each focus on a different aspect of farming, agriculture and sustainability. At each station children will get hands-on experience to learn about soil, pollinators, water, greenhouses, invasive species, bats, owls, bugs, greenhouse birds, and more. Students will also get an opportunity to visit the beehives where they can get an inside “buzz” on beekeeping.
At the end of each tour, students take home free treats from the farm: a jar of honey, a bookmark embedded with phacelia seeds to plant, and a packet of either sunflower or pumpkin seeds. For more learning after your visit to the farm, you can explore additional activities on our Educational Resources page here.
