Through education, nourishment, and inspiration, Stable Harvest Farm is here to offer our community, both locals and visitors, a place to discover the importance of agriculture while keeping the bellies of those in need full.
About our farm
Standing as a 65-acre agricultural land trust in Langley, BC, Stable Harvest Farm (SHF) is marrying sustainable farming, wildlife conservation and experiential learning opportunities for children and youth. Currently, the farm has a five-acre market garden that produces a wide variety of vegetables grown in accordance with organic farming principles, meaning that no synthetic fertilizers and pesticides are used. Several ponds and undisturbed land have created a natural ecosystem for a variety of wildlife and hundreds of species of birds, including owls, who thrive there.
Current facilities include a retrofitted barn that supports post-harvest processing and storage and seven greenhouse tunnels to extend the growing season. In the next year, Stable Harvest Farm will add a community kitchen which will supplement its educational programs for young people.
